"Al" means the. "Balad" means city.
If combined, "The City" - this is what Arabs call this place.
Balad is the historic center of Jeddah.
Hence, the traditional houses on the latter part of this post.
The first part comprises of the modern houses that are now slowly congesting down the number
of traditional ones.
The night view in Balad is priceless.
